About The Practice

How I Got Here, Where I'm Going

I first came to yoga in 2004 because I suffer from migraines and was told that yoga could help calm my mind. I began a home practice through the help of DVDs and encouragement from family. I found that yoga was not always accessible in my area. I fell in and out based on what was going on in my life and came back to it with fierce dedication in 2017 when the universe decided it was time for this passion to grow. And grow it did. Yoga and meditation have decreased my migraine pain immensely.

I am a licensed clinical therapist and work with clients struggling with substance use and/or mental health disorders. I frequently see how yoga assists my clients in so many ways. It was this recognition and a seminar on yoga in therapeutic settings that sparked my decision to become a yoga instructor.

I completed my Teacher Training through the collaboration of Boston Yoga School and O Yoga in February of 2019 under the direction of Ame Wren and Tiffany Cagwin. As a therapist and yogi, I understand that we all heal in our own ways and are not always aware of what lies beneath the surface of our body or mind.

And so, not long after obtaining my RYT, I decided I needed to take it to the next level, combining my love of psychotherapy and yoga. I entered yoga therapy school (what I call yoga grad school). After completing much of my foundational studies, working with clients and achieving yoga therapist status, I continue my work towards my international certification (IAYT - International Association of Yoga Therapists).

I aim to make yoga accessible to everyone. I have conducted successful groups at local Outpatient Clinics. I have also taught yoga to groups and individuals at a local community center. I teach yoga to individuals as well as work with individuals in a yoga therapist capacity.

Yoga does not need to be out of reach and is incredibly healing; good for a workout, if you need to relax, or if you need to regulate your system. Choose what you need and come experience the incredible powers of yoga.
